"Great family-run trattoria in Rome! The food was delicious and truly authentic Italian. Everything we tried was tasty and well prepared. Nonno was especially welcoming and accommodating, making the experience even better. We really enjoyed our lunch here and highly recommend it!"
"BEST FOOD EVER. I ate the BEST cheesecake of my life The restaurant feels like home, the people are super welcoming and kind!"
"It takes a while to get your food but it's well worth it. Each plate is enough for 2. We ordered Carbonara, caccio e pepe, matriciana. Excellent!"
"This restaurant was recommended to me by an Italian that has been living in Rome for 10 years. The quantity of the food is huge!!!!! For the price of one also the interior is amazing. There was a guy playing the guitar and singing. However, my vegetarian friend asked them to remove the meat from a dish and he said that its already in the mix which is understandable so she went ahead and ordered a vegetarian option. Overall the vibes are top I would highly recommend."
"What a lovely, family run restaurant. The staff was fantastic making recommendations, speaking both Italian and English. They were also so kind, no language barrier could hinder this wonderful experience. As many may have heard, the food in Rome has become very touristy but not at Da Carlone. This was the best meal we had. The plates are large the food is flavorful...I wanted to go back but didn't have time. The restaurant is off of a side street which I liked. I can't wait to go back. Thank you for the wonderful experience Da Carlone!"
"We always come here when in Rome. The portions are HUGE and delicious. Keep in mind that this is a LOCAL place. Each time we come here there is a different daily dessert. All great. Service is good too! The owner is very friendly, and his wife is the chef. Make sure to make a reservation in advance, as this place does get busy. My personal recommendation is the Carbonara."
"Da Carlone was recommended to us by a local tour guide and we are so glad it was!!! It was the best pasta we had in Rome! We ordered two pasta dishes. Huge serving sizes and absolutely delicious. Amazing wine. Beautiful family run restaurant."
"Old Italian restaurant with good food, portions are large especially pasta its for 2/3 people. Reservations are highly recommended. Its located in a busy area of Trastevere. You must visit downstairs cisterna! Museum!"
